Newsletter Nr. 3. Groups of experts, pilot workshops, multiplier events

The AppForDem project (Erasmus+, 2019-2022) has created a set of open and multilingual educational resources on dementia in order to provide caregivers with a global vision to cope with everyday problems according to an approach based on the person-centred care model. The main products of the project are an e-learning course and an educational app aimed at carers of people with dementia in English, Italian, Spanish and Romanian.

IO3 - IO4. The piloting process - testing the app and the e-learning course

In the last stage of the AppForDem project, partners carried out a piloting process aimed at testing the educational app “dementia and daily living” and the e-learning course “specialized care for caregivers of people with dementia” with the project target groups in Romania, Italy and Spain.

In this regard, from October to December 2021, ANS, HABILITAS and MENSAJEROS organized two workshops in their countries aimed at evaluating the usability of the aforementioned learning resources.

A total of 37 organizations and 84 participants (20 in Spain, 17 in Italy, and 44 in Romania) were involved in the piloting process. The profiles of the participants were diverse: doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, dementia experts, teachers, social workers, project managers, directors of nursing homes, and informal caregivers.

IO2. Development of content for the educational app dementia and daily living

September 2020 - July 2021

According to the methodological framework described in IO1, partners have developed learning content and training materials related to the to the training curriculum “Specialized care for people with dementia” .  Didactic Guide. To ensure the quality of content, each partner has organized 2 workshops with experts in each participant country. Partners have developed a didactic guide for trainers in order to implement open educational resources in the national VET programs. A newsletter shows the results achieved and the upcoming activities of the AppForDem project.

IO1 METHODOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK  FOR THE EDUCATIONAL APP ON DEMENTIA.  1999-2020
During the first stage of the project, partners have developed national and comparative reports, which reflect the current situation of the caregivers' qualifications and the importance of developing a set of open educational resources freely available on the internet.
 At this phase, some externals experts have provided partners with useful information related to the lack of knowledge and skills for caring people with dementia.  With this information, partners have also defined a training curriculum that allow them to develop a set of open educational resources defined by an educational educational app and an  e-learning course,  available  under Creative Common license.

En la fase inicial, cada socio ha elaborado un informe nacional sobre la situación actual de la cualificación del cuidador de personas con demencia y un informe comparado dónde se comprueba la importancia de disponer de recursos educativos abiertos disponibles gratuitamente en Internet.
En esa fase, algunos expertos externos a las organizaciones implicadas en el proyecto han aportado información útil relacionada con propuestas de mejora del conocimiento y competencias para cuidar a las personas con demencia. Los resultados obtenidos en esta primera fase han permitido diseñar un currículo formativo, que sirve de base para desarrollar un grupo de recursos educativos abiertos tales como una app educativa y un curso teleformación, desarrollados bajo licencia Creative Commons

In prima etapa a proiectului, partenerii au elaborat rapoarte nationale si comparative, care reflecta situatia actuala a calificarii ingrijitorului si importanta dezvoltarii resurselor educationale deschise disponibile gratuit pe internet.
In aceasta activitate, unii experti externi au furnizat partenerilor informatii utile legate de lipsa de cunostinte si abilitati pentru ingrijirea persoanelor cu dementa.Cu aceste informatii, partenerii au definit, de asemenea, un curriculum de formare care permite partenerilor sa dezvolte un set de resurse educationale deschise definite de o aplicatie si un curs de invatare electronica, dezvoltate sub licenta creativa comuna.

Durante la prima fase del Progetto, i partner hanno realizzato dei report nazionali e comparativi che riflettono l’attuale situazione degli operatori assistenziali e le qualifiche attualmente disponibili nei diversi Paesi partner. Allo stesso tempo i report realizzati hanno lo scopo di evidenziare l’importanza di sviluppare delle risorse liberamente accessibili su internet.

Per lo sviluppo di questi primi prodotti sono stati coinvolti in ciascun Paese partner degli esperti sul tema dell’assistenza a persone affette da demenza e della formazione del personale assistenziale, i quali hanno fornito ai partner informazioni utili relative alla carenza o mancanza di conoscenze e competenze specifiche per l’assistenza di persone affette da demenza.  Con queste informazioni, i partner hanno quindi definito un programma formativo che permetterà di creare all’interno del progetto una serie di risorse educative liberamente accessibili sotto forma di una app e di un corso in modalità e-learning, sviluppati secondo licenza Creative Commons.

I den første fase af projektet har partnerne udviklet nationale og sammenlignelige rapporter, der giver et billede af kvalifikationerne blandt omsorgsgivere og som understreger vigtigheden af at udvikle uddannelsesressourcer, der er frit tilgængelige på internettet.
I forbindelse med denne aktivitet har eksterne eksperter bidraget med nyttig information om manglen på viden og færdigheder i forhold til at pleje mennesker med demens. På denne baggrund har projektpartnerne defineret et undervisningsprogram, der giver dem mulighed for at udvikle åbne uddannelsesressourcer, der er defineret som en App og et e-læringsforløb, der er udviklet og kan bruges under Creative Commons-licens.
